Satellite Workshop at IEEE ICIP 2026

Hyperspectral imaging has undergone remarkable advancements in recent years, shifting from labor-intensive and time-consuming processing methods to efficient, real-time analysis techniques. This workshop focuses on leveraging deep learning to tackle the unique challenges posed by hyperspectral imaging, including its inherent spectral complexity, high dimensionality, and the critical task of preserving spectral band integrity—an aspect often overlooked in conventional methods. The workshop will explore intelligent algorithms for automated data interpretation, advanced data fusion techniques for multi-source integration, and strategies to enhance spectral continuity in model outputs. Topics such as transfer learning, automated image classification, and segmentation will also be highlighted, showcasing their role in advancing hyperspectral imaging capabilities. This workshop aims to foster innovation and collaboration by bringing together leading researchers and practitioners advancing in hyperspectral imaging and applied AI applications across diverse sectors such as healthcare, environmental monitoring, agriculture, public safety, forensics sciences, and defense.

NOTE: The main venue for IEEE ICIP is Tampere-talo (Tampere Hall). One can walk from Tampere Hall to Tampere University Main Building in around 5 minutes, as the complexes are across the street.
Directions:
- Leaving the Tampere-talo complex:
- If leaving via the main entrance, go down the steps, take a left on Yliopistonkatu (University Street) without crossing the street, then continue straight for 110 m. For your safety, do not walk on the brown cycling path on Yliopistonkatu; use the brick pedestrian path instead.
- If leaving via the entrance facing the Sorsapuisto (Duck Park), take a left, and follow the pedestrian path 70 m. Take a left onto Yliopistonkatu, and head straight for 140 m.
- If leaving via the main entrance of the Courtyard by Marriott Tampere City (part of the Tampere-talo complex), take a slight left (heading towards the drop-off entrance) for 40 m, then turn left onto Yliopistonkatu, then continue straight for 30 m.
- Continue straight through the crosswalk across Kalevantie. Once across the street, turn left, then take an immediate (< 10 m) right. The main entrance to the Tampere University Main Building is 40 m ahead. and you will enter on the 1st floor.
- 1st floor of Tampere University Main Building:
- If using the stairs, take the staircase on the right down to the ground floor (0. krs.). Take the first right, which leads to a hallway, and A05 will be the second room on the right.
- If using the elevator, take the ramp immediately to the left of the main entrance inside the atrium, then turn right at the top (facing the two staircases). Walk towards the back, and the elevator will be on your left; take it down to the ground floor. Upon exiting the elevator, take a left, then a right, then another left to enter the ground floor atrium. Take the first right, which leads to a hallway, and A05 will be the second room on the right.
